The Glendi Greek Festival is a project of the Lions Club of Adelaide Hellenic. The Glendi Festival is the Club’s major project where it raises money for distribution to many different worthy charities. Established in 1978 with very humble beginnings, Glendi today has now grown to become one of Australia’s largest multicultural festivals and one of the largest festivals of it’s type in the Southern Hemisphere.
Glendi is a festival for all South Australian’s. It aims to promote Greek culture through its history, arts, music, dance & food. Historic artifacts as well as art pieces are all on display in the Cultural Marquee. Music is performed from local, interstate as well as international performers. Foods from all different regions of Greece are in abundance. Glendi allows many of the different Greek Brotherhoods, Associations and Clubs in our community to raise money for their benefit.
